AIA Philippines, BPI AIA launch new solutions as longer life expectancy reshapes Filipinos’ retirement planning
Longer life expectancies, smaller families, and evolving retirement needs are reshaping how Filipinos prepare for their future. Responding to these shifts, AIA Philippines, formerly Philam Life, and BPI AIA, the strategic alliance between AIA Philippines and the Bank of the Philippine Islands, have introduced AIA Platinum Secure and BPI AIA ADDvantage, two participating whole-life insurance plans that combine lifetime protection with guaranteed income benefits to help customers build long-term financial security.
The Philippines is approaching aging society status, with Filipinos aged 60 and above now accounting for 9.6% of the population—a figure expected to rise to around 11% by 2030.At the same time, Filipinos are living longer, families are having fewer children, healthcare costs continue to rise, and traditional sources of financial support in later life may no longer be as reliable as they once were. These shifts are reshaping retirement planning, and increasing demand for solutions that deliver lasting protection and reliable financial resources when customers need them most.
To help address these changing needs, AIA Platinum Secure and BPI AIA ADDvantage combine lifetime protection with guaranteed cash payouts, milestone bonuses, and the potential for dividends that may help grow policy value over time. These features give customers greater flexibility to prepare for retirement, unexpected expenses, and other life milestones while building long-term financial security.
"Helping Filipinos live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives means giving them the confidence to face the future with confidence," said Melita Teo, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Philippines. "As people's needs evolve over time, they need solutions that combine lasting protection with dependable financial support. Through AIA Platinum Secure and BPI AIA ADDvantage, we're helping more Filipinos build financial confidence and resilience for the years ahead."
AIA Platinum Secure and BPI AIA ADDvantage help Filipinos build long-term financial security through lifetime protection, guaranteed cash payouts, milestone bonuses of 25% of policy’s face amount at ages 80 and 90, and a guaranteed maturity benefit at age 100. Policyholders also receive guaranteed cash payouts equal to 10% of the policy's face amount every other year, starting at the end of the fifth policy year for single pay and 2-pay plans, and eight policy year for 5-Pay, 10-Pay, and 20-Pay plans. Both products are available in single pay, 2-pay2, 5-pay, 10-pay, and 20-pay options.
Customers can further strengthen their coverage through optional riders for hospitalization, critical illness, accidents, disability, and other health-related risks. Both products also offer potential dividends that will help increase the overall value of your plans over time, depending on company performance. Together, these solutions reflect the shared commitment of AIA Philippines and BPI AIA to helping Filipinos prepare for longer lives with greater financial confidence.
